1Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.2Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.3For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.4Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:5Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;6Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.7But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.8Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,9And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:10That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;11If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.12Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.13Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.15Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.16Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.17Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.18(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:19Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)20For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:21Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Die Gerechtigkeit aus Glauben ist Gewinn

1Weiter, liebe Brüder, freut euch in dem HERRN! Dass ich euch immer dasselbe schreibe, ist mir nicht mühsam und macht euch desto gewisser.2Achtet auf die Hunde, achtet auf die bösen Arbeiter, achtet auf die Zerschneidung!3Denn wir sind die Beschneidung, die wir Gott im Geist dienen und rühmen uns in Christus Jesus und verlassen uns nicht auf fleischliche Vorzüge,4obwohl ich auch Vertrauen dazu haben könnte. Wenn ein anderer denkt, er könnte sich des Fleisches rühmen, so könnte ich es viel mehr,5der ich am achten Tag beschnitten bin, aus dem Volk Israel, vom Stamm Benjamin, ein Hebräer von Hebräern und nach dem Gesetz ein Pharisäer,6nach dem Eifer ein Verfolger der Gemeinde, nach der Gerechtigkeit im Gesetz untadelig gewesen.7Aber was mir Gewinn war, das habe ich um Christi willen für Schaden geachtet.8Ja, ich achte es noch alles für Schaden gegenüber der überschwänglichen Erkenntnis Christi Jesu, meines HERRN, um dessen willen ich alles für Schaden gerechnet habe, und es für Kot achte, damit ich Christus gewinne9und in ihm erfunden werde, dass ich nicht meine Gerechtigkeit habe, die aus dem Gesetz kommt, sondern die durch den Glauben an Christus kommt, nämlich die Gerechtigkeit, die von Gott dem Glauben zugerechnet wird,10um ihn zu erkennen und die Kraft seiner Auferstehung und die Gemeinschaft seiner Leiden, dass ich seinem Tode ähnlich werde,11damit ich gelange zur Auferstehung der Toten.

Unser Bürgerrecht ist im Himmel

12Nicht, dass ich's schon ergriffen habe oder schon vollkommen sei; ich jage ihm aber nach, ob ich's auch ergreifen könnte, nachdem ich von Christus Jesus ergriffen bin.13Meine Brüder, ich schätze mich selbst noch nicht so ein, dass ich's ergriffen habe. Eines aber sage ich: Ich vergesse, was dahinten ist, und strecke mich aus zu dem, was da vorne ist,14und jage nach dem vorgesteckten Ziel, dem Kampfespreis der himmlischen Berufung Gottes in Christus Jesus.15Wie viele nun von uns vollkommen sind, die lasst uns so gesinnt sein. Und solltet ihr etwas anders halten, so wird euch Gott auch das offenbaren;16Doch lasst uns in dem, was wir erreicht haben, auch wandeln.17Folgt mir, liebe Brüder, und seht auf die, die ebenso wandeln, wie ihr uns zum Vorbild habt.18Denn viele leben, von denen ich euch oft gesagt habe, nun aber sage ich's auch mit Weinen, dass sie die Feinde des Kreuzes Christi sind,19deren Ende ist die Verdammnis, ihr Gott ist der Bauch, und ihre Ehre ist in ihrer Schande, die irdisch gesinnt sind.20Unser Bürgerrecht aber ist im Himmel, von wo wir auch erwarten den Erlöser Jesus Christus, den HERRN,21der unseren nichtigen Leib verklären wird, dass er ähnlich werde seinem verklärten Leibe nach der Wirkung, mit der er auch alle Dinge sich untertänig machen kann.
